How Binaural beats help Lucid dreaming?

The practice of lucid dreaming can be time-consuming, even frustrating if you try it by yourself.  If you can keep your conscious mind active, you can lucid dream. Though it sounds simple, it is not so.This is the reason why many people are using binaural beats for achieving lucid dream. Binaural beats flood your brain with Theta brainwaves, which is the frequency emitted by your brain when you sleep and dream. With the Lucid dreaming binaural beats, you just put your headphones on and fall asleep to the sounds of the binaural beat recording, which sometimes contains some very soothing white noises that make you fall asleep.

What are binaural beats and how do they work?

Binaural beats are sounds that the brain imagines and interprets when two sounds of slightly different frequencies are heard through two ears. For example, if you hear a tone of 120Hz in one ear and 110Hz in another, the brain will imagine and recreate a tone with a frequency of 10Hz. You will hear an imaginary sound of 10Hz. The beat does not exist in reality except inside your head.

Two sounds that make the brain produce a 10Hz tone actually imitate the brain’s own electrical output in this range, which is called ALPHA frequency at this range. It is a frequency the brain emits to create a relaxed and alert state of mind. Binaural beats produce this frequency artificially for entraining the brain so that your natural brainwaves are synchronized with this frequency. Thus it is possible to produce high cognitive abilities, sleep and deep meditative states, through the use of binaural beats. The binaural beats of Delta and Theta frequency are believed to lead to improved arousal, attention, and cognitive performance.

How binaural beats can help lucid dreaming?

Now, we know what the binaural beats are, and how they operate, let us see how they can help lucid dreaming. Lucid dreaming can happen to you if you can activate your conscious mind, when you dream, instead of allowing your subconscious mind to control your dream. Then you know a dream as a dream, an illusion, a fantasy created by your mind. As you realize this, it puts you in a position of power. Then you know for certain, even in your dream, that whatever you are seeing is unreal and can be controlled according to your wish. Then anything you want to experience in a dream is possible. It is possible by using a series of binaural beats.

Just one type of binaural beats cannot induce lucid dreaming. First a sleep-inducing binaural beats are used. As you drift in to sleep, another type of binaural beats are used to put your mind in a dreaming state that is characterized by REM. Once you start dreaming, another type of binaural beats are used to wake up your conscious mind, while your body is in sleep. This enable you to realize your dream as a dream and take control of it, which lucid dreaming precisely is. There is a catch, however. If you desire to lucid dream for a long time, when it actually happens, you may be too much excited so that you wake up completely. This mars your experience of lucid dreaming. There are some binaural beats specially designed for this purpose, so that your body remains completely asleep, while your conscious mind controls your dream.  As you lucid dream, you can follow the patterns of your mind to change the way you think and to remove the obstacles in your subconscious mind.
